This half term we have been working on one more and one less. We have looked at numbers that are "greater" and "less". We have been practicing counting in groups of 2, 5 and 10. We have also been working on part whole models and we are getting really good at them!
We have also played lots of maths game together on the interactive whiteboard.
At the start of the term we began by looking at Charlotte's Web. We did some research into spiders and we even went out on a spider hunt! We loved making spider fact files in the shape of spiders! We also wrote about Wilbur the pig and practiced our CVC words using the text.
As Halloween approached we began looking at 'Funnybones'. We learnt all about skeletons, even a dog skeleton! We made a booklet all about skeletons and named some of the body parts.
We have also played lots of phonics game and taken part in collaborative learning activities.
In our English sessions we also love to read! We have been reading lots of different stories as a class and worked on out reciprocal reading skills such as summarising the story and predicting what might happen next.
Every day we take part in lots of exciting activities. This half term we have been practicing our Yoga skills and exercising in the playground.
During our snack time we have enjoyed trying different fruits from all over the world. We have been using our map to plot where our fruit has come from. We have also been working on helping each other during our snack time, we take it in turns to share out the fruit, collect in the plates and we even wash up!
We have also been developing our garden area by planting daffodil bulbs. We are so excited to see how they look in the spring!
To end the half term we have been celebrating bonfire night. We created lovely bursting firework paintings which look amazing in our classroom!
