Spellings- Spellings are set each week on a Friday with the expectation that they are learnt by the following Friday for a test. Spellings are different for Year 5 and Year 6 and follow the statutory guidelines for their age group. In addition to statutory spellings there are also a list of topic words given on a two weekly basis and are the same for both Year 5 and Year 6. Spare spellings are on our English working wall if the children need them.
Spelling books must come into school on a Friday so we can do our test in the back and stick next weeks spellings in.
Below are Year 5 spellings on the right and Year 6 spellings on the left. The children will be tested on these words on 13/06/19 (Thursday due to 14/06/19 being a training day).
Mathletics- Mathletics homework is set weekly (usually on a Thursday) and is in line with what we have been learning in class. This work is monitored regularly and is set to ensure that weeks learning is consolidated before moving on. If there is a difficulty accessing Mathletics at home there is a Mathletics club run on a Tuesday lunchtime.

Rockstar Maths- We complete three Rockstar Maths tests a week, testing Multiplication and Division. Week beginning:
This half term in topic we are learning about Scandinavia. Your homework is to produce a piece of homework about this topic. You could;
- Make a quiz about Scandinavian countries
- Research and make food from a Scandinavian country
- Make a video/blog about one of the countries
- Research and recreate artwork by a Scandinavian artist
You can decide what you want to learn more about, the deadline is 19/07/19 but whenever your work is complete you can bring it in to share with the class!
