Spellings - Weekly spellings will be sent home every Friday for a test the following Friday. Our spellings to practise this week are...
*Within the new Primary Curriculum, children are expected to know and be able to spell this statutory list by the end of Year 4. Of course these are not the only words that children are expected to spell accurately!*
Rock Star Maths - 3 times a week, we listen to rock music as we fight against the clock to recall as many times tables as we can! Our times tables to practise this week are our seven times tables!
Mathletics - Mathletics is a captivating online learning space providing students with all the tools they need to be successful learners, both in the classroom and beyond. Children have been provided with logins to access their online Mathletics accounts at home. Weekly challenges will be set on this by Miss Holmes on a Friday to complete at home.
Topic - This half term our project will focus around 'Adventure' in particular looking at Volcanoes. Similarly to last term, children will be asked to bring in a piece of homework of their choice, that focuses on our class topic. Homework for this can be brought in any time throughout the term leading up to Christmas. Here are some suggestions to get you started...
- Research volcanoes that are still active. You could maybe even look at volcanoes under the sea!
- Find out what happened during historic volcanic eruptions such as Pompeii. You could create a letter or a diary entry from a survivor.
- Create a model of a volcano. You could even have a go at making it erupt!
- Look at famous adventurers and their achievements. Could you set out on an adventure of your own?
