Throughout this academic year class 3/4S will be participating in the ‘Linking Schools Project’, which Riverside Junior School has actively been involved in over previous years. Our partnering school will be St Malachys Catholic Primary School in Halifax.
The aim of The Linking Network Project is to develop the spiritual, moral, social and cultural learning of our pupils which can form a lever for positive whole school change. More information is available to access on the official website.
As part of our Linking Schools Project we will be producing work to send to St Malachys School, with a clear focus on exploring identity, celebrating diversity, promoting community and understanding equality. We will be in regular contact with our partnering school sending: class letters, emails, etc.
We recently visited Bankfield Museum in Halifax, to meet the children from St Malachys and participated in a fun work shop! We made name clouds to help us get to know our new friends more, as well as completing a trail through the 'For King and Country' exhibition at the museum. We played lots of great games and even had time for a competition of who could build the biggest newspaper tower! Here are just a few pictures from our fantastic trip out...
