SPORTS DAY!

Usually at this time of year we all come together as a school and take part in our yearly Riverside Sports Day! Unfortunately this year this event wont be going ahead due to the current circumstances, however this shouldn't stop us from getting involved!

Your task: Today we would really like you to host your own Sports Day at home. You can choose a selection of sports to take part in or just a few, these can be traditional sports day events or just hobbies you enjoy doing. Make sure you showcase your sports day on Class Dojo!

SACK RACE

The player will stand inside a sack and continually jump/hop to the end of the course and back. They will then tag in their teammate to proceed. This format continues until each team member has finished.

BEAN HEAD

The player will balance a small bean bag on their head whilst attempting to run from one end of the course and back as fast as possible. Player will then tag in the next teammate to proceed. This format will continue until all participants finish. (If bean bag is dropped participant must start again)

EGG & SPOON RACE

The player will balance an egg on the end of spoon whilst attempting to run from one end of the course to the other as fast as possible. Player will then pass the egg & spoon over to the net teammate. This format will continue until all players have finished. (If the egg is dropped the player must stop where they are and place the egg back on the spoon before continuing)

SKIPPING RACE

Player will use skipping ropes to skip from one end of the course and back as quick as possible. Player will then tag in their teammate to proceed. This format will continue until all players are finished.

3-LEGGED RACE

2 teammates will attach one of their legs each on to the other team member, using a special strap (left leg for one, right leg for the other)creating three legs between two players. Then both players must make their way to the end of the course and back as quick as possible. The next 2 teammates are then tagged in and the strap handed over. This format will continue until all team members are finished.

FOOTBALL DRIBBLE

Player will dribble a football through sets of cones to the end of the course and back. The player then passes the ball to the next teammate to proceed. This format will continue until all participants have finished.

TIC-TAC-TOE

Each individual team receives three colour coded bibs. The first player from each team will then run as fast as possible to the tic-tac-toe board and place a bib inside one of the hoops, then run back and tag in their next teammate. This format continues until all three bibs are placed. The aim of the game is to have three bibs in toa row (vertical, horizontal, or diagonal). If the three bibs from each team have been placed with no winner, then the next player in line is allowed to move one of their bibs into an open hula hoop.

SPACE HOPPING

Players will sit on their space hopper and attempt to bounce from one end of the course to the other as quickly as possible. The next teammate is then tagged in and takes over on the space hopper. This format continues until all players have finished.

WHEELBARROW RACE

The team splits in to pairs and form a human wheelbarrow. This is achieved by one player taking up a press-up position with the other player taking hold of their ankles and standing up straight. Both players then have to race to the end of the circuit before switching roles (other player becomes "Wheelbarrow") and making their way back. This format will continue until all players have finished.

TUG 'O' WAR

All players from each team take hold of the 20m rope at opposite ends and pull against each other. The team to successfully pull all the opposing team members across the centre line wins.
