Welcome to our class page!

Please keep your eyes peeled for regular updates, including photos in our gallery and instagram page, highlighting all of our wonderful learning!

What’s on our learning menu for this half term?

We have been so proud of Goldfinches and the children’s attitude towards their learning so far this academic year. It has been lovely to see them grow in confidence, resilience and knowledge and to watch their friendships blossom.

We are looking forward to starting our Summer 2 term with a bang and we have some exciting new topics to explore.

This half term, we are looking forward to learning all about the Anglo Saxon’s in History and we will be taking a school trip to Leeds City Museum, where we will take part in a interactive workshop all about the life of an Anglo Saxon. In English we will be reading James Barrie’s classic children’s novel Peter Pan and writing instructions on how to fly to Neverland. We will become inventors in DT, and we will round off the topic by showcasing our design protypes to parents in a Riverside Expo at the end of the term. In Science we will be identifying the different States on Matter and asking: What is a Solid, Liquid or Gas? We explore the melting point of different materials and learn about evaporation and condensation. In Maths we will be learning about money, shape, position and direction and statistics.
