Welcome to our class!

Here, you will be able to find out about all of the exciting learning that we get up to and anything that you might need to know about upcoming events.

Key information for our class:

  • Our indoor PE day is Friday and our outdoor PE day is Monday so please make sure that your child comes to school in PE kit on those days.

  • Homework goes home on a Friday and consists of weekly spellings, maths activities and a question of the week. Children will be quizzed on their spellings the following Friday. Homework books need to be returned to school by Wednesday.

What are we learning about?

Maths

We will begin this half term by continuing our learning on mass and capacity. We will then develop our understanding of fractions.

Get your child going on Times Tables Rockstars. It’s a great way to develop fluency in multiplication and division!

English

Our current text in English is ‘The Wild Robot’ by Peter Brown.

We will be using this fabulous text for inspiration as we create instructions, diary entries and narratives!

Other Curriculum Areas

Science

In Science this half term, we will be learning all about electricity!

We will learn about how to use electrical appliances safely, how circuits and switches work and we will even have a go at making a game using electricty!

Geography

This half term, we will be learning all about mountains.

We will look at how mountains are formed, different mountains around the world and develop and understanding of why people climb mountains.
